I am helping to organize a benefit for my wife Julie's brother, Eric Falk, of Green Bay who was diagnosed with ALS(Lou Gehrig’s disease) less than one year ago. ALS is a horrible motor neuron disease that robs those afflicted with it of their fine motor skills, their muscle strength, especially in their arms and legs, and eventually their speech, swallowing, and breathing. In the later stages he will be paralyzed, yet through it all his mind will not be affected. It is a very cruel disease. There is no known cause and there is no known cure. Eric accepted this news and was determined to become a survivor of it. At that time we asked Eric and his wife Betty if there was anything we could do. The answer has always been no. But that is not to be. The disease is rapidly taking over his body. His strength is leaving him and he now is having a difficult time walking-often stumbling and falling. A wheelchair has been ordered for him. The bills are beginning to rise. Some of Eric’s family & friends have gotten together to raise some money to help with making his home wheelchair accessible, take care of the medical costs associated with this(the prescriptions are over $800.00 per month), and to purchase a wheelchair accessible van. Our goal for this is $45,000. We want to make sure Eric and his wife Betty will be covered and won’t have to constantly worry about money. They have enough worries the way it is. We’re looking for cash donations, of course, but need some raffle prizes and silent auction items. I am wondering if you would be able to help us out. I've been meaning to try Yikes! for some time now and am so glad I finally did! Lindsay did an incredible job with my color today. I will definitely be back again. i have known jeri since about birth and she has been my one and only stylist (im 33 BTW)! i love the salon, the people and atmosphere. all the gals there make you feel at ease : ) (and that is what going to the salon is all about isnt it??) i do believe im a YIKES! lifer.... take care ladies!

After reading your newsletter, I think it's awesome how the salon is so supportive of downtown events like the farmers' market, boating events, and Celebrate Americafest. Great job encouraging people to visit the downtown area for businesses besides Yikes! You know they'll stop by anyway once they realize a fabulous Aveda salon is right within their reach! Enjoy the fourth and fifth of July. Thanks for letting us know Yikes will be closed, as that may have been a day to run errands like picking up hair products. I recently had my bridesmaids, flower girls, and my makeup and hair done at Yikes for my June wedding. The staff was AWESOME! They totally catered to my needs, and even came in early to accomodate all 15 (or so?) of us! The hair was absolutely amazing, I got so many compliments as did the rest of the girls. The makeup, flawless. A special thank you to Lindsay for doing my hair and makeup, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Definitely recommend Yikes for any wedding or prom needs!
